These nostalgic and highly collectible, black & white hockey photos
were distributed by the St. Lawrence Starch Company Ltd. during the middle
years of the previous century. The business was located in the Town of
Port Credit which is now part of the amalgamated City of
Mississauga...located west of and immediately adjacent to the City of
Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
In
1889, the St. Lawrence Starch Company Ltd. began its operations and
remained in business until 1989 when it was purchased by an
American firm (Cargill Inc.). The hockey photos first appeared
at some point during 1934. They were available through a company promotion
which lasted for 33 years, until the end of
1967 when the promotion was cancelled.
