In order to obtain a hockey photo, St. Lawrence Starch Company required
you to send in a "Proof of Purchase" item from one of their
many products. The predominate item received by the company was the Bee Hive Corn
Syrup label. There were also collar tokens
(in the 1950's and 60's) from the top of 1 lb. screw top containers, paper tokens from the top of 5 lb.
tins, and package tops sent in for redemption. Once these
labels, collar tokens and package tops were
received by the company you would be mailed your requested photos and
have them in your patiently, awaiting hands a couple of weeks later.
