Collectors were allowed to select any photo of their choice
from a list of players published each season. One player on these
lists, Joe Conn, even has a Bee Hive photo though
he never stepped foot on the ice in the NHL! If a player's name
appeared on a list, this did not guarantee his photo was ever
produced. These checklists were likely created by someone other than the
actual photography company that was contracted to take the pictures
and the unconfirmed photos were never taken. Some checklists
indicate
the availability of certain 1965 New York Rangers and 1966 Boston
Bruins but the photos were never issued.
